Our Head Bartender, Alfredo, obviously loves his work. Don’t hesitate to order a Top Shelf mixed drink, Margarita, Mojito, or other cocktails, or explore our assortment of Mexican beers.

Watch for the return of Karaoke Nights and Mariachi Nights. Before Covid, Mariachis came on Thursday nights to the restaurant, and Karaoke was Friday nights in the bar.

The El Rey bar feels like it's right out of the Cheers sitcom. When you are ready to eat, you can eat at the bar, move to a small table, or into the restaurant.

El Rey is the more relaxed side of Dripping Springs. People speak to strangers more readily and many regulars know one another. El Rey’s seasonal and holiday decorations are always a treat. Small children receive crayons and their artwork and notes are displayed in the restaurant.

The dining room is large but not noisy and the bar is a separate space. Two open dining rooms ensure you won’t wait long for a table.

Large groups, family gatherings, sports teams, and birthday parties are a common sight at El Rey. Large groups are asked to call ahead so we can have your table ready when you arrive.
